Family Medicine Center

Our program benefits from Advocate Christ Medical Center’s strong commitment to community-based case. Recently, our residency relocated to the new Family Medicine Center in Oak Lawn. This spacious, state-of-the-art facility promotes practice experience and facilitate didactic education. Our practice has grown, as well as our needs and our new facility accommodates these demands.

The Family Medicine Outpatient Center features a resident workroom, precepting room with large screens for sharing and discussing with attendings, spacious and fully-equipped exam rooms, work pods for physicians to efficiently work and communicate with nurses and MAs, lecture and study spaces, and dedicated OMT space.

Advocate Christ Medical Center

Advocate Christ Medical Center offers the most sophisticated technology and state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment capabilities. It is a 788-bed premier teaching institution with more than 1,500 physicians. Advocate Christ is one of the major referral hospitals in the Midwest for a number of specialties, including cancer care; cardiovascular services; heart and kidney transplantation; neurosciences, orthopedics; and women’s health. The medical center provides emergency care for more than 105,000 patient visits annually and has one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in Illinois. Advocate Christ is part of Advocate Aurora Health, one of the top 12 not-for-profit health systems in the country.

Some highlights of Advocate Christ Medical Center:

Ranked by US News and World Report as one of the country’s leading providers for cardiology and heart surgery, gynecology, and pulmonology and rate overall by the magazine as being among the top five hospitals in Illinois.

In January 2016, opened new multi-level patient tower, which includes a Birthing Center with all private labor and delivery and post-delivery suites; 72 additional private intensive care and step-down rooms; 780 spot parking garage with covered pedestrian skybridge; chapel and new cafe.

Obstetrical services – nearly 4,000 babies are born at Advocate Christ Medical Center each year, one of the highest volumes in Chicagoland.

Level III perinatal center – provides the most sophisticated care for critically ill children.

Level I trauma center and emergency services – one of the largest emergency care programs in the state. Advocate Christ Medical Center provides the highest level of care to nearly 780,000 patients each year, including more trauma patients than any other hospital on Chicago’s south side.

The number one heart hospital in northern Illinois – Advocate Christ Medical Center performs more adult open-heart surgeries than any other hospital in the northern region of the state.

More than 400 residents, 600 medical students, and 800 nursing students trained in accredited programs and a range of specialties each year.

Advocate ChIldren’s Hospital

Advocate Children’s Hospital is a 69-bed hospital including a 15-bed pediatric intensive care unit and 9-bed pediatric surgical heart unit. Advocate Children’s Hospital offers top-notch care encompassing over 30 pediatric specialties. Residents who train at Advocate Christ Medical Center diagnose and manage a range of acute and chronic pediatric diseases of all levels of severity. The residents develop competency in managing “bread and butter” cases, as well as unusually and critically ill patients on the inpatient services and critical units, and in the acute care clinic and the pediatric emergency center.
