Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

The community that we serve is multicultural and our program personnel reflects that diversity.  We model acceptance of various cultures, religions, socio-economic statuses, and values via formal and informal means. We embrace diversity as a way to achieve excellence and this is celebrated in our recruitment efforts and allows us the opportunity to have a very diverse applicant pool and subsequent residency class.   We make a concerted effort to make sure that we have at least one underrepresented minority in each class, that we have a balance of male to female residents, and we have a healthy ratio of osteopathic vs. allopathic residents. 

Our dedication to resident wellness, including helping to develop residents’ bonds with each other, ensures that this diversity and inclusivity is maintained.  This ideally allows our residents to feel comfortable expressing their cultural identity at work. 

Our Program Director remains actively engaged in creating a culture of inclusion and fostering an environment of psychological safety for all members of the program.
