PGY-I

THE Family Medicine Center

  • The heart of our program
  • Training to take patient history and quickly and accurately identifying relevant exam findings
  • Practice effectively assessing and planning treatment to align with patient goals as well as patient follow-up
  • Precepting meetings with faculty to develop confidence and reasoning

Sports medicine

  • Education in sport-specific risks and injury management
  • Attendance at local high school football games for hands-on event experience
  • Residents work with physical therapists and athletic trainers

Maternal health

  • Comprehensive maternity care curriculum
  • Management of your own continuity panel of prenatal patients; opportunity to participate in CenteringPregnancy or CenteringParenting group visits.
  • Family Planning and Women’s Health procedural training.
